Island Cafe

Well let's start with the positive in case my food experience was isolated. Friendly service, locally owned, clean and prompt. As for the food, I ordered the fish lunch special, fried flounder. Wasn't looking for fried but they offered it grilled or blackened, so blackened it is. Special came with a trip to the salad bar which I didn't take advantage of. As for the special itself, founder and fries. The fries were hot, crispy and had a little Old Bay or boil seasoning on them. Then I spotted the fish, it was easy to miss, maybe 2-3 ounces. It was the tail area, "V" section, maybe a 1/4" thick at best and 5-6 inches long. The seasoning was great but for a $10+ lunch "special" it was NO value and the owners that took my money should be EMBARRASSED. It is Spring Break and they might not care if they sold it to a tourist and they never came back again but I live in Corpus and was eating with 3 locals who eat there on a regular basis.
